MobileMe may be revamped, but the price will be higher - just to match Apple's image.
Just like how the iPad's price is sky high?
Steve Jobs was quoted as saying recently that everytime they've priced for volume (i.e., priced low in the hopes of greater sales) they've seen success. When they haven't priced for volume, their success has been more attenuated. Now this was regarding media and the iTunes store, but there's no reason cloud services couldn't be the same, particularly given how competitive this sphere will be and the fact that there's no real marketing benefit to "premium" data pricing (as opposed to premium laptop/notebook pricing where higher prices can contribute to a perception of higher quality).

I find this report very hard to believe. An experienced company planning to launch a product, but not signing a contract with a company for x amount of LCD panels, a component that is notoriously in tight supply? Sounds more like Asia decided to raise their prices "due to the Tsunami" and gouge clients. They're doing it Apple, but they can afford to be gouged. RIM probably decided to sit it out for a bit.

Regardless of what happens on the 7th, I'm ordering a MBP. Though, things look like they're shaping up for that! Apple would be nuts not to put that chip in the MBP now that it's shipping.

A better battery is highly improbable. However if you only look at the dark side of an event you pass up any chance of benefitting from it. Certainly it isn't good to have your nukes melt down but this is also a learning opportunity. That is if people can look at what is happening objectively. If all you see is people getting irradiated then you aren't looking at the bigger picture.
I assume the "maybe the radiation will produce higher density batteries" comment was meant as a joke.
As for the rest of what you said, no doubt.

As Steve Jobs said in the original presentation of iPod, music is something that relates to everyone. this product can be sold to anyone, and the related services have to make sense from the point of view of Mac and PC users alike. This doesn't happen with video, IMHO.. there are just too may details that prevent TV and video to appeal to everyone.. different film ratings, different availability of broadband, NTSC vs. PAL TV sets (to plug your "vPod" to), ...

App sounds good in theory and less discs are good except this is an important disc to have. I want the disc. Also I buy family packs so how will that be handled?
When my G5 was having problems I NEEDED those discs badly! As long as there is a way to create your own disc I'm cool with it. I have had to many drives go bad to fully rely on them so this is certainly debatable.
Apple needs to show how the app would work better then a disc to sell me on the App. I do like the fact of not having to wait at the store and everything else.
How about both? Let me download it then send me a disc and family packs. Have 4 Macs in the house so it could get expensive in the long run. (well 5 but my G5 can't run Lion).

If Apple unveils some interesting new take on the cell phone, these same guys are going to be crying foul over it, and yet they've had all the time in the world to prepare for it and--better yet--do something really innovative on their own. You seriously see this as a feature? Apple only is able to do this by signing agreements with a carrier, and being on a 1-product line. Why do you think you get that release so quickly on your AT&T iPhone? Because they don't offer a T-Mobile iPhone, nor does T-Mobile or anyone else support it (until Verizon agreed to Apple's terms)... An android device is available on any carrier, and in this country we have multiple technologies (CDMA, IDEN, GSM 1700, GSM 2100, LTE, WiMax, etc etc)... if you're comparing the iPhone which has been offered on ONE network with ONE technology (which isn't even the latest as of 2010), that's a bad comparison. Furthermore, it's not difficult to release an all-device software update when "all devices" consist of ONE device.
If you're going to make a comparison, at least make it legit.
Please recheck your math and research on how many carriers the iPhone is available WORLDWIDE - you know, the world is bigger than just the US - and all those carriers worldwide are not allowed to put any crap on it or modify it in a way that makes maintaining updates too expensive. Every iPhone User worldwide can update the same day.

What they've done is built up the front end so that when you drop a file on your Drop Box it caches the file locally and then syncs to the cloud "behind the scene". So when you open a file sitting in your Drop Box it feels like working on a local file because you "are" working on the local file. Any changes made from you or anyone the file has shared with will be sync'd in the background.
Most people don't understand the fundamental differences between iDisk and Drop Box. If Apple was to build a front end to iDisk that stored the file locally and then sync'd over WebDAV in the background they'd be able to offer the same performance.

Little problem with my TT car kit. My iPhone no longer automatically pairs with the car kit when I plug it in. I use to be able to turn BT on and plug it in the TT kit and it would pair in a few seconds. Now I have to manually pair the two by going into the BT settings on the iPhone.
Anyone else with this problem?

If you read the article again, it ays the rumor is for laptops. Very doubtful apple will move the desktop line to an ARM processor as there is nothing that competes with the current tech.
For laptops (specifically the air), the move may make sense. I don't see apple moving the whole macbook pro line to ARM. maybe the airs and the regular macbooks.
It still wouldn't be worth the software fragmentation that would take place. Plus, Intel has continued to make their possessors more power efficient.

Mobileme is certainly worth more than free. Apple doesn't scrape your emails and other data to target adds at you a la Google.
I could see Apple making some features of Mobileme free. I don't think they're just going kill a revenue stream but they could offer a basic free Mobileme account which gives you.

lol.. That's funny but it's the inevitable of how the iPhone is being used. If it's deemed legal, Apple shouldn't get involved in Toyota's marketing scheme. Maybe Jobs shouldn't have made a mockery of that CEO (I forget his name) in the unveil party of the iPad 2.
I agree. While I thought it was an, lets say 'interesting' move by Toyota to do this - it is absolutely their decision to do so, since jailbreaking is not illegal.
Disclaimer: My iPhone is not jailbroken, did it a long time ago, toyed with it, didn't see the value for me and restored - but it is everyones decision to do what they want since it is not illegal. Of course there are apps that you could argue enable illegal stuff, but that is a different story.
